Recently praised in the Boston Globe for her "glowing sound" soprano Zorana Sadiq has performed extensively throughout Canada and the U.S. This spring, she sang the world premiere of Shirish Korde's Songs of Ecstasy with Boston Music Viva and performed a Music Toronto recital with "pungent abandon" (Globe and Mail). Last season, she also appeared in The Harp of Fire, with Toronto's Talisker Players, and with the Toronto Choral Society in Poulenc's Gloria. At the Banff Festival, Zorana "captured the insouciant wit" (Calgary Herald) as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro. Other recent highlights include Strauss' Four Last Songs with the PSO, Lauretta in Opera York's production of Gianni Schicchi, Granada Girl in Osvaldo Golijov's opera Ainadamar with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and at Tanglewood in 2003, Knoxville: Summer of 1912 as part of the Aspen Music Festival, St. John Passion with the Talisker Players, Carmina Burana and Haydn's Creation with the Toronto Choral Society.

Passionate about contemporary Canadian music, Zorana sang the role of Margaret Trudeau in D.D. Jackson's Trudeau: Long March, Shining Path as part of the New World Stage Festival at Harbourfront. She made her debut at the Ottawa Chamber Festival in 2005, singing a new CBC-commissioned piece by Vancouver composer Jeffrey Ryan, and sang pieces by Andrew Ager "…with great sensitivity. It was the highlight of the concert." (Ottawa Citizen) Zorana sang the role of Ariane in R. Murray Schafer's opera The Enchanted Forest, performed the part of the Voice in Facing South with Tapestry New Opera Works as part of the World Stage Festival in 2003, and sang the part of the Wedding Singer with "…riveting purity" (Georgia Straight) in Vancouver Playhouse/NeWorld Theatre's Asylum of the Universe

Zorana was honoured to perform with the late Kristine Boygo in Bach-Fest, with Mooredale Concerts, sang a concert of works by Shirish Korde and Osvaldo Golijov at the Contemporary Music at Holy Cross series in Boston and frequently collaborates with pianist Peter Tiefenbach. In singing Strauss' Four Last Songs with the Peterborough Symphony, she "…soared in and out of the rich texture of melodies and harmonies…" (The Examiner).

A versatile performer, Ms. Sadiq appears in a Lerner and Loewe special with Bravo this coming season, sang three roles in Rhombus Media's televised opera, Burnt Toast, which aired on CBC: Opening Night and BravoFact! played the part of Felice Bauer in the film of the multi-media World Stage presentation of Autumn Leaf's opera, Kafka in Love and co-hosted the final season of CBC Television's cultural program, Zed: Candid.

In the upcoming season, Zorana appears with Opera Hamilton as Papagena in Die Zauberflote, and Laurette in Le Docteur Mirace with Toronto Philharmonia. On the concert stage, Zorana sings the music of Georges Aperghis in Pleur, Rire at the Music Gallery. In the summer of 2008, Zorana can be seen at the Luminato Festival, Indian River Festival and the Colours of the Music Festival.

Zorana has trained at the Tanglewood Music Centre, The Aspen Music Festival and school, The Banff Centre, Summer Opera Lyric Theatre and with Toronto's Queen of Puddings Music Theatre. She was awarded third place in the Eckhardt Gramatté Competition in 2005 for voice. She is the recipient of four Canada Council grants, and holds a double Bachelor of Music in Performance and Music History from McGill University, and a Master of Music from the University of Toronto.
