Recently praised for her "vivacity and strong communicative instinct" (Globe and Mail) soprano Zorana Sadiq has performed extensively throughout Canada and the U.S. Some of her most recent work includes a Music Toronto recital with pianist Peter Tiefenbach, The Harp of Fire with Talisker players, Four Last Songs with the PSO, Poulenc’s Gloria with Toronto Choral Society, Margaret Trudeau in Trudeau: Long Path,Shining March for the World Stage Festival, Lauretta in Opera York’s Gianni Schicchi, Ariane in R. Murray Schafer’s opera The Enchanted Forest, and Susanna in the Banff Festival’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro.

For her excellence in contemporary recital repertoire, Zorana was one of three finalists in the prestigious Eckhardt Gramatté Competition for Voice in 2005, and is the recipient of three Canada Council Arts Grants to professional musicians.

Zorana’s recent engagements on the operatic stage includes Le Docteur Miracle with Toronto Philharmonia, and Die Zauberflöte with Opera Ontario. She also sang concerts with the Luminato Festival in Toronto, Colors of Music Festival and the Indian River Festival in PEI. Always active in the contemporary music sphere, the Zorana appeared in a remount of "The Aperghis Project" in May, and made her debut with Boston Musica Viva in Hands Across the Seas.

No stranger to CBC viewers, Zorana co-hosted the final season of ZeD: Candid, and played three roles in Rhombus Media’s televised opera, Burnt Toast, contributed to the Gill Deacon Show, and if you don’t blink, you might just see her on an episode of Little Mosque on the Prairie this season.
